It has good food, a nice climate and beautiful women (especially the Israelian ladies). O yes,and  the occasional friendly neighbourhood fights. But these are so surreal that one can hardly believe they are actually true.<br \/>\nPalistinian filmmaker Elia Suleiman uses the inflammable border as a setting for strange storylines: a Santa Claus who is chased up a hill, an ill man who doesn&rsquo;t want to go to the hospital, a ninja version of a palestinian freedom fighter and a stunning beauty from Jerusalem who destroys a checkpoint just by her physique.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The film won the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fipresci.org\">Fipresci<\/a> Award and the Grand Jury Prize at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.festival-cannes.com\/films\/fiche_film.php?langue=6001&#038;id_film=3107802\">Cannes 2002<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe film has a hip and loungy <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.fr\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B00006L7SQ\/stefandevries-21\">soundtrack<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PAL\/FR 2001 (92&prime;)- Dir.: Elia Suleiman.
