Schmidt<\/a>. When the series aired the streets were empty. More than thirty years later the concept of a nurse and the people in her rest home is far from outdated. The film is set in a fantasy street in a period when the streets in The Netherlands were still clean and tidy, and where people greeted each other while\u00a0lifting their hats. It&rsquo;s a very funny and happy film, with good acting. The film was made on\u00a0a very modest budget of 3,9 million euros, but the production design and choreography can compete with any big production. I wonder if the film would work well in other countries, since the setting is so typically Dutch. But maybe that&rsquo;s an advantage as well.
