With Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Meryl Streep, Claire Danes. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thehoursmovie.com\/\">Official site<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Hours was marketed as a film with fantastic women in it. And of course it has a wonderful ensemble of actors (male and female), my attention went entirely to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clairedanes.com\/\"><span class=\"link_small\">Claire Danes<\/span><\/a> who is such a pretty lady. Add to that the exquisite photography and the dreamy, yet adequate soundtrack by Philip Glass, and you get a gem of rare beauty.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image94\" alt=\"The Hours\" class=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stefandevries.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/08\/thehours1.jpg\" \/>I was always a little bit afraid of Virginia Woolfe&rsquo;s work, but I will start reading one of her books very soon.<br \/>\nMany things have been said and written about this sophisticated film. But I have read nothing about the remarkable fact that Hollywood seems to be dominated by a Quality Maffia. I have the impression that today&rsquo;s inventive and original American cinema turns around Steven Soderbergh. Time to rebaptise the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.virginia.edu\/oracle\/\"><span class=\"link_small\">Kevin Bacon Game<\/span><\/a> into the Soderbergh game. I made it from Steven Soderbergh to Steven Soderbergh in  4 steps: Steven Soderbergh directed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stefandevries.com\/movies\/2003_03_03_moviearchive\"><span class=\"link_small\">Solaris<\/span><\/a> with George Clooney (step 1) who directed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stefandevries.com\/movies\/2003_03_11_moviearchive\"><span class=\"link_small\">Confessions of a Dangerous Mind<\/span><\/a>, which was written by Charlie Kauffmann (step 2) who also wrote <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stefandevries.com\/movies\/2003_03_10_moviearchive\"><span class=\"link_small\">Adaption<\/span><\/a>, with Meryl Streep (step 3) who played in The Hours, which also starred Julianne Moore (step 4), who played in Far From Heaven which was executive-produced by&#8230; Steven Soderbergh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"adsense\"><!--adsense#Movies--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"USA 2002 (120&prime;)- Dir.: Sam Mendes.
